usb woes

Hi all It does seem that we all have usb woes with our Plextalk pocket at some stage! Attempting to connect my pocket with a usb cable. I have so many of these cables that to be honest Im not sure whether the one I am now using is the right one. On this computer, the pocket can be charged with the usb cable that is no problem. But it does not recognise the pocket as a device. This means it draws power from the usb port i.e. it is connected but not recognised. Any help from anyone? Andre

downloading software with a braille notetaker?

I have a Braille Sense U 2 and a Braille Note Apex. I don't use or have access to conventional computers. Can the software be downloaded with either of these 2 braille notetakers? If so, how please? What's the actual url? Hi all, the ptp1 firmware is finally available. I will instal it shortly. It look quite nice. Just look like they stil don't support aac plus formats for web radio, but otherwise its nice. Problem selecting files in PRS software

Hello, list, I have used the PRS software for several years on a Windows XP laptop and have been very happy with it. Recently I have migrated to a Windows 7 laptop. Now, when I am selecting a number of contiguous files for converting to build into a book I get a strange result. In my XP setup I learned that I had to select the files in reverse order, from bottom going up, in orer to have them appear in my desired order in the daisy book. Now, no matter if I select in either direction I get the files converted and arranged in reverse order. As an oddity, the files are listed in reverse alphabetical order in the PRS. Any other file listing in other Windows 7 programs are in correct order. Does anyone have advice on how to correct this? Thanks, Jeff

what gadget to use for making notes

Hi I am looking for some kind of gadget to make notes. I am going on holiday soon and I wonder what would be the best gadget to use to make or keep notes in the form of a diary. I have an olympus dm5, plextalk pocket and a nokia c5. I have to remember that I am flying so am limited to what I can carry on the plane. would what I already have be sufficient to keep a diary? On my phone I have quick office. I took my netbook last year but couldn't use it in the hotel as the wifi only worked in the hotel bar and the tables were too low for me to work at being in the wheelchair. I know the pocket can do text editing but I don't know much about it. What about my dm5? Any ideas would be welcome. Regards Adrien

I have been told that the battery for the PTN2 is the same as that used in the PTX1. Is this correct? Can I buy a separate charger, or is it only charged in the player? Thanks, Steve

connecting ptp1

Hello listers, on windows xp I manage to connect the pocket, then if I want to charch it on USB, I would simply virtually aject it and it will restart and charch. Now that I'm on windows7, its no longer the case. Nothing happens if I safely remove the device but leave it physically connected, it just stays in disk drive moad. Is there perhaps a setting in windows wich could affect this behaviour?
