batteries for Plextalk

Hi, Here in the UK Site and Sound together with RNIB can no longer supply batteries for the PTN 2 players. There is a company in Leicester who are able to open the casing and insert new battery cells. The company is called ESP Special Batteries Ltd and their telephone number is 0116 2413796. The cost is about £32 as they will accept VAT exemption. As with the other former suppliers, the courier cost is about £10 because the post office will not allow batteries in their packages. SD Cards

Dear All, Apologies if you've already had this but I'm not sure that I have the correct address these days. Please may I ask which SD cards are not suitable for use with PTR1 Pocket and PTN2? I am currently looking to buying a couple more SD cards and have so far been successfully using ones with a capacity of up to 32GB. There are, however, so many different ones on the market now which make reference to the speeds at which they run and I have no idea how this affects the devices I am using. With thanks, Steve

Hi. Potentially someone can make a new battery pack, I have had one of these done in the past and it worked well but it isn't always guaranteed as it can cause problems with the charging circuits. What is the default talking book player on RNIB these days? The shop seems to sell fairly expensive models. I have been given a PTN 1 to try and find a home for. Currently the machine does not have a battery. When I switch it on, it tells me there is a problem with the battery and that I should disconnect the A C adaptor. This indicates that the machine must always have a battery in it in order to work. I have telephoned Sight and Sound, and they tell me that they can no longer get the battery. I am, therefore, asking if anyone has a battery for the PTN 1 which they no longer need. If I cannot source one, then the machine will have to go in the bin, which seems a shame as it looks to be in good condition. Best wishes, Peter
