I have questions about the ptx1. What text to speech voices does the device use? Can the device play books from nls? On the bard website what plextalk device do I chuse? Sence the ptx1 isn’t listed

Guys, As the main reason for keeping this server around has now gone as the client has moved elsewhere, I will look to move this list elsewhere and shut down lists.hodgsonfamily.org. audible books in the UK

Hi All, Has anyone tried downloading an Audible book for playing on their Plextalk in the last few weeks? I am concerned that some people mentioned Audible were changing the format so we would not be able to play the books on our Plextalk devices. Steve

Cases for pockets

Hi all, just wanted to say I bought two cases from executive products for my two pockets the other day. They have arrived and once I was able to get them into the case it is all good. I really like the design of the case so I no longer have to take it out of the case when charging or plugging it into my computer. It has a nice zipper pocket on the front to carry a few SD cards. The hole front of the plextalk is now accessible unlike the case it came with that you have to pull it out of the case for some of the buttons and to charge. The case has a belt clip, a hand strap and a neck strap. The hand and neck strap can be taken off if not needed. I wanted to get another case because my case for my first pocket is falling apart I have had it for so long and since I was buying one I thought I might as well buy two. My only issue is now I can't tell them apart because I was using the symbol on the back of the second one that isn't on the original to tell them apart and you can't access the back when they are in the case. So for now I have left the hand strap on one of them to be able to quickly tell them apart. Just thought I would mention this encase anyone else wanted a case for their pocket. Bye for now. Audable formats supported

Hi, What Audable formats are supported on the Pocket? Some people from another list are complaining they won't be able to download format 4 books anymore, Audable is telling them to use Enhanced format, but they are under the impression the Pocket doesn't support this format. Is this correct? Thanks. Andrew.

Except for the rare occasion when one decides to update to the latest/greatest version. Hello Steve. I have two Plextalk Pockets and a Plextalk Linio. In all cases the units will now not accept charge from a mains charger. I believe this is a common fault. I now charge all my units using a USB charger or computer, and they work fine. Peter
