question about auto in the pocket.

Not an auto in my pocket, you uderstand. There is the auto gain control on my Plextalk Two and also on the plex pocket. I know how to turn it off in the plextalk Two. It is a toggle between my being able to set the record volume level, and the auto gain. Well, I plugged my little sony stereo mike into the Plex Pocket and tried to make a recording tonight. it will say auto, once I found the right key; but how do I get the machine to let me set the record levels? Hello John. I have two Pockets and a Lineo, and in all cases the units will no longer charge from the mains. However, they will charge from the USB socket. Peter

Audible Books on our plextalk equipment

Hi All, I was extremely frustrated when we learned in June that Audible Books would no longer be compatible with our Plextalk equipment. I have just successfully downloaded a file converter which will convert Audible file format into standard mp3 files suitable for playing on mp3 players, including Plextalk. The interface on the file converter is very simple and although the Audible file is one continuous audio file, the converter enables you to break it down into multiple mp3 files as ten minute blocks or, better still, as per the original, book chapters. If, like me, you use the PRS software, you can make a DAISY version also. The cost for a life time licence is about £27.00 or about £22.00 for a one year licence. Hi Sugar, OK, I'm working on a few assumptions here but, if you've got a Plextalk PTN2, you might be able to copy the information onto an SD card and transfer it that way. That assumes that you have an SD card slot on your computer. Alternatively, linking with a USB cable should also be possible (I think) but usually, when you connect most Plextalk devices to a computer, the Plextalk becomes a dumb drive and tends to lose the normal functionality until it is subsequently disconnected. I've not used a PTN2 so can't give you chapter and verse on this, so apologies in advance if I'm talking garbage! Talking about plextalk, how can I transfer a book from my desk top to the plextalk? I have the USB cord but where do I put it? Audible enhanced format book and the Pocket

As many may know, Audible has chosen to move exclusively to their "enhanced format" for their audio books. Unfortunately, the Plextalk family of devices cannot play books in that format. Even more unfortunately, Plextalk does not have any plans to retrofit their devices with the ability to play that format and, to the best of my knowledge, has no plans to release a new player with that capability. I'm wondering if there is any way to convert the enhanced format books into the older format four format so that the Plextalk can play the file. I understand the files will be much larger, but if they were playable, I'd be a very happy guy. I love my Pocket and am very disappointed that Plextalk is ceding this part of the market to other players and companies. Any thoughts or possible suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Clifford
