HELP WITH PTR2 PLEASE

My wife's RNIB Daisy TV guide this week is faulty. It seized up on her PTN1, and I was able to innitialise that as I know the buttons to press. We then tried it in her PTR2 and it has seized up again. Unfortunately I can't remember what to do to re-initialise it in order to get it to work again, and I can't open any of the manuals on-line. I could find the CD instructions in a box somewhere, but I thought I would try this group first to see if anyone can tell me how to re-initialise the PTR2. Thanks in advance. Peter

q. Can I go back?

I use a plextalk 2 and i think my software is 1.8. I don't know if I missed some update somewhere. Here's my dilemma: I recorded, we'll say, 5 songs. But in dealing with them, the second song was accidentally deleted; and some other things were done, so that I cannot use the "undo" command now. Can I correct the way that the Plex sees the songs to re-include song number 2? Or do I have to take this to Goldwave on my computer and extract Song Number 2 outside of the plex? Is there something I can do manually on the computer to force the plex to allow me to re-assign heading numbers and the like? I hope I'm making this question clear. Thanks so much. New member with question re pocket

Hi all. I have a Plextalk Pocket which is not working correctly. On boot-up, it seems to boot up again and thereafter all of the keys simply peep when pressed. This is my 3 or 4th Plextalk since this model was released and I miss not having it like crazy. Anyway, to my question. A couple of years ago I discovered the Brussels address of Plextalk and posted off my broken Plextalk to them for a maintenance. They were very generous and sorted out my device without charge. I'm not looking for another free-be, but I would like to write and ask if I can send my device so they can have a look at it. Problem is, I cannot find the Brussels address anywhere. Can anyone help me out here with a contact address for them please. Thanks very much. Andy.

Problems charging my battery in my plextalk pocket

Hi all: When I turn on my plextalk pocket I get the message that my battery is low and to plug in my AC adapter. However, when I do that nothing happens as if the machine is not taking the charge and it just shuts down to power save mode. When I go to power it off it either just goes to save mode or it will tell me "plextalk is shutting off" but then goes right back to save mode. I've used two different AC adapters with the same results. My battery isn't even a year old. I've tried to get the back off so I could take the battery out and put it back in, but I absolutely can't get the back off. I hope someone can help?? Denise

When you plug in the AC adapter you should hear the "tinkle" of the tones indicating something is happening. The same when the adapter is removed. If you get nothing, the cause is usually the adapter or the jack in the Pocket. Insert the AC adapter and then gently grab the connector where it goes into the Pocket. Gently move it clockwise with a slight outward pressure. The tones may or may not be intermittent, indicating a bad jack. In the US, this is serviceable. The Charging LED should come on a steady red and then switch to red/green when it reaches a certain threshold. The unit can also charge using a USB cable. If you have a standard USB type wall charger for an iphone or smartphone, it will charge and allow you to use it while charging when you use the Pocket USB cable. If you connect the Pocket to the USB connector on the PC, it will go into the USB On The Go mode and charge only when turned off. The AC adapter is required when doing firmware upgrades, but you can charge using USB anytime. At the moment, one of my units will charge up, but if I try to use it on the mains it will shut down. If I fully charge it, and use it on battery, it seems to behave. At the height of the trouble I bought a new battery for each unit, but have been carrying out tests with the old batteries. A couple of days ago I put a new battery in one of the machines, and it appears to have sorted itself out. Batteries can sometimes have a disappointingly short life, and it may well be that you have got one of those. Best wishes, Peter

What Plextalk Players can be purchased in the U.S.

Hi. I believe that I will be in the market for a new pleyer. What players that Plextalk makes can be purchased in the U.S. For instance can the linio Pocket be purchased in the U.S. If It can be purchased in the U.s. how much does it cost? Can you read NLS books on them? Where can I get more information on these players and where can I go to purchase one? I believe that my Plextalk player will be no longer usable. I don't want to get another Plextalk player because to me it's old technology where the firmware isn't being updated. Thanks for your help. I'm not sure if I want to purchase the Stream either.
