AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' .

Hi, Using PlexTalk Pocket 1. The messages in the subject line are what I get when I check the battery status. The machine appears to be working ok otherwise. I also hear the power-connect/disconnect sounds when it sees the supplied power unit. I have re-set the PlexTalk a few times, and still get the ‘no battery installed’ and ‘battery level 0%’ messages. Once or twice, since I noticed these messages today, I have got the ‘battery charge complete’ message. But I’m now back to the ‘no battery installed’. (It certainly is ‘installed’ physically. (Off AC, as previously indicated, it’s ‘battery level 0%.) What does this mean? Is it indicative of a failing power supply, a failing battery, or that the battery has just run low and needs to re-charge? (I’m listening to music and/or other radio programmes recorded on it, mostly on AC.)

I have had similar problems with both my PTP 1 machines, and one of them cuts out after a few minutes when it is being played on the mains. I too bought new batteries, but these didn't seem to help. I have got round this by forgetting about the power supply and I now charge always from the U S B and always use the unit on batteries. I have now purchased the Lineo, which is useful for if I want to do any mains recordings. Peter

changes to editing procedure

Hello, I have recently updated the firmware on my Pocket. It now appears that I need to do more button pushes to get into the edit mode. I press the menu, and then the edit , then I am told that I am about to edit the title-am I sure? Having confirmed, it seems that I then have to go back to the menu and select edit once again whereupon I can now choose my editing item. When I have finished editing I am required to exit the editing mode through the sub-menu, failure to exit the editing mode through the Prescribed route slows the closing down procedure because the device needs to close the edit title feature by default. Hope that makes sense. I find this more long winded than how it was previously. Has anyone else found this a hindrance? Steve

Pocket USB connection

Hi, When I plug in my USB cable to the port on my Plextalk Pocket it is only making a good connection intermittently. Most of the time I am getting a message saying ' No USB media'. I did try another able at my local computer repair shop but that didn't seem to work at all. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I am left with the problem of: is it the cable or the port in the Pocket? Thanks, Steve

Hi. You could try backing up the contents of the files on that disk, then you could try putting them on your said card. I hope that this helps! Pam In God we trust! I have recorded some things onto disks, and then finalised the disks. I want to back them up to cards, but when I put a disk in the player it tells me that it is an improper or damaged disk. I know there are recordings on the disk, as I have put it in my computer, and there are various files listed. I have tried everything I can think of, going through the menus on the player, but to no avail. Can anyone help? Wendy

problem with power button

Hi everyone, My Plextalk Pocket is having problems engaging the power from either turning on or off, requiring several key presses. I am not sure if the cost of getting this fixed would be more cost efficient than just getting another unit, and keeping this one at home for my line-in recordings. I have also found that the lock key is becoming very sensitive to touch. I am not rough on the unit, but I guess many key presses can eventually be negative. Are there any suggestions of what home remedies I might try? I guess I can keep the power save on and use the "any key" to wake up the unit. Thank you, Steve
