Charging Via USB
by Pele West 17 Oct '16

Hi Everyone My Plextalk Pocket will no longer charge using the AC adapter, so I use a USB charger instead. I have not tried a different AC adapter. I think the problem is with the Plextalk as the charger is still working. Pele West

AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' .
by Flor Lynch 16 Oct '16

Hi, Using PlexTalk Pocket 1. The messages in the subject line are what I get when I check the battery status. The machine appears to be working ok otherwise. I also hear the power-connect/disconnect sounds when it sees the supplied power unit. I have re-set the PlexTalk a few times, and still get the ‘no battery installed’ and ‘battery level 0%’ messages. Once or twice, since I noticed these messages today, I have got the ‘battery charge complete’ message. But I’m now back to the ‘no battery installed’. (It certainly is ‘installed’ physically. (Off AC, as previously indicated, it’s ‘battery level 0%.) What does this mean? Is it indicative of a failing power supply, a failing battery, or that the battery has just run low and needs to re-charge? (I’m listening to music and/or other radio programmes recorded on it, mostly on AC.)

Peter, Have you tried a new power supply? -----Original Message----- From: peter wilkins Sent: Sunday, October 16, 2016 9:16 PM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] AC Adapter: No battery installed, or when off AC, 'battery level 0%' . I have had similar problems with both my PTP 1 machines, and one of them cuts out after a few minutes when it is being played on the mains. I too bought new batteries, but these didn't seem to help. I have got round this by forgetting about the power supply and I now charge always from the U S B and always use the unit on batteries. I have now purchased the Lineo, which is useful for if I want to do any mains recordings. changes to editing procedure
by Steve Richards 08 Oct '16

08 Oct '16

Hello, I have recently updated the firmware on my Pocket. It now appears that I need to do more button pushes to get into the edit mode. I press the menu, and then the edit , then I am told that I am about to edit the title-am I sure? Having confirmed, it seems that I then have to go back to the menu and select edit once again whereupon I can now choose my editing item. When I have finished editing I am required to exit the editing mode through the sub-menu, failure to exit the editing mode through the Prescribed route slows the closing down procedure because the device needs to close the edit title feature by default. Hope that makes sense. I find this more long winded than how it was previously. Has anyone else found this a hindrance? Steve

Pocket USB connection
by Steve Richards 02 Oct '16

02 Oct '16

Hi, When I plug in my USB cable to the port on my Plextalk Pocket it is only making a good connection intermittently. Most of the time I am getting a message saying ' No USB media'. I did try another able at my local computer repair shop but that didn't seem to work at all. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? I am left with the problem of: is it the cable or the port in the Pocket? Thanks, Steve

Hi. You could try backing up the contents of the files on that disk, then you could try putting them on your said card. I hope that this helps! Pam In God we trust! He is my resurrection forever! @ ----- Original Message ----- From: Wendy Sharpe via Plextalk <plextalk(a)lists.hodgsonfamily.org To: "'Plextalk'" <plextalk(a)lists.hodgsonfamily.org Date sent: Thu, 22 Sep 2016 23:02:01 +0100 Subject: [Plextalk] Problem with PTR1 I have recorded some things onto disks, and then finalised the disks. I want to back them up to cards, but when I put a disk in the player it tells me that it is an improper or damaged disk. I know there are recordings on the disk, as I have put it in my computer, and there are various files listed. I have tried everything I can think of, going through the menus on the player, but to no avail. Can anyone help?
