PLEXTALK LINIO POCKET
by Val Brown 28 Sep '15

Hi, I've just had a new Linio pocket in the U.K. and want to use the calendar but, quite frankly, the instructions for this are "useless". In fact my Guide dog could probably do better! My question is can anyone give me a 1, 2, 3 step guide to creating events in said calendar and then editing/deleting. Regards Val.

From 2006, we started field trials for online delivery by collaborating with local libraries in Japan, Sweden, U.K. and Australia in order to study the technical feasibility of online capable DAISY players. The experiences and expertise we acquired through those field trials was shared with the DAISY Online Working Group of the DAISY Consortium. The DAISY Online Delivery protocol was been adopted as the standard of the online delivery system in 2010. We believe the Linio, the world’s first DAISY Online compatible player, will provide you with new reading experiences. This machine only records on compact flash cards, which she can't get any more. I am wondering if there is an adaptor which you can plug into the flash socket which will allow you to record and play S D cards. Hi, there are some adaptors available. I only could provide some German links, but because Amazon list one in Germany they also offer this item in your country, too: http://www.amazon.de/DELOCK-Adapter-CF-SDHC-SDXC-schwarz-gelb/dp/B004AFJZUW or on Ebay http://www.ebay.de/itm/SD-SDHC-SDXC-Kartenadapter-auf-CompactFlash-CF-II-un… And you should have installed the latest firmware on your PTR2. Old issues of the PTR2 only can handle SD cards up to 2 GB. With the actual firmware the PTR2 is able to use 32 GB cards. I don't know if the actual firmware also can handle SD cards larger than 32 GB (SDHX). Yours sincerely Arno

Re: [Plextalk] Plextalk Linio can now be purchased in the US

Hi Rich, The Linio has a very neat calendar, an alarm feature with five alarms and the option to use custom sounds, and 8 GB of internal memory. Apart from that, it's extremely similar to the PTP1 Pocket. One other difference I can think of is that, I believe, it has a new Podcast function which should make finding and subscribing to podcasts easier than it was before, but I haven't investigated that yet so others might like to comment. Hi all, Well, according to the Plextalk twitter and facebook, one can now buy the Linio pocket in the states. For those who have the Linio, what are the differences between it and the pocket ptp1? Also, the facebook page says the model from Europe and the US model will have some differences. I have also contacted IRTI to check on pricing. Thanks. Rich Cavallaro
