Hi all, the Book Port Plus and the PlexTalk Pocket are the same hardware, but different software, as the Book Port will play .BRF files and unfortunatly, the Plextalk won't. Hello, I would like to know if one can obtain a battery for the Plextalk, mind does not seem to hold a charge. Thank you for any feedback.

BBC national radio streams have changed format, so need to change streams in Plextalk.

Hmany don’t work i, BBC are (as of Wednesday this week) no longer supporting WMA, ACC, or ShoutCast AAC, but o support ShoutCast MP3. I hope this format is supported by Plextalk. (I think it is.) Now, has anybody yet got Plextalk-useable stream URL’s for such BBC national radio streams? (I have understood that AAC is higher quality than MP3; so this is a regressive stop for online streams, IMHO, despite the stuff about Microsoft no longer supporting WMA.)

recording problem

Hi. I've got a recording problem. When recording on my plextalk pocket I just get a second recorded when recording the first thing in a title. What can this be? Strange behaviour

I have a PTR2. Suddenly a couple of nights ago it started saying tone plus 6 over and over, with little sounds in between. I left it alone, and eventually it stopped, but since then this has recurred several times. When I tried to make a recording onto a blank disk it stopped recording and said there was a write error and to press cancel, which I did. Then came the tone plus 6 problem again, and I could do nothing to stop it. I shut down, which it took a long time to do, turned off the mains and let it rest a while. I then switched on the mains, turned the machine on, and it seems to now be ok. I wonder whether it had something to do with being overloaded in some way. I had both a CF card and a disk in the machine at the time. When I had shut down I removed the card and disk. Now I just have a disk in place, and it is playing that one ok, which is one of my talking books. Can anyone tell me what may have caused this problem? Wendy

ptp1 and ptp1 linio updates

Hello everyone. This is to inform for those who might not no yet that both the pocket and the linio pocket now got firmware updates. Fixing among other things USB connectivity issues. I no on a number of pc's people had problems. Hope they will have a much more smoover and smarter connecting experience. Only sad thing is that for this update they have done away with the .exe file download. So you must use the .zip file for the UK firmware. Don't no on the US firmware if they kept that file. Goodluck and enjoy. Can't see a way to successfully get AppleVis podcasts onto PlexTalk

has anyone tried getting the AppleVis podcasts, from www.applevis.com/podcasts, etc, onto the PlexTalk (Pocket)? there is a formatting problem at least: the address doesn't end in .xml - for example. So I think you have to download the individual podcast mp3 files on to it. It's a pity the plexTalk is so fussy about formatting that it won't accept.

ptn2 obsurvation (intresting)

Hello all ptn2 users and everyone else interested. A while ago, my ptn2 battery gave in. It did know longer hold a full charge. I decided that there is no use of it furder and I removed the battery and the screw wich holded the cover. Now I like the fact that the unit tells me that no battery is installed. But here is the thing: I was expecting the date and time to be completely rong, as it was more than a month without a battery, and I always thought that it must be the battery that also holded the clock settings. However, now I found that the date and time was still correct. This leads me to think that the ptn2 like computers, must maybe have a small battery in the motherboard or somewhere wich does this job. Intresting. Wunder what is the case with other units such as ptr2?
