need a new stream url
by Clifford Blackwell 30 Jan '17

In the last week the NPR Program Stream url that I got originally from a list of urls that someone sent along with my Plextalk has stopped working. All the other streams seem to still work fine. If there's an updated stream for the NPR Program Stream, would someone please post it? I can get my local NPR stations and the NPR news headline streams just fine. This is the stream that rebroadcasts previously aired NPR programs. Any help will be appreciated. Clifford

My thought is that if the drive was dead you would not get any audio out of it at all. I suggest that you try more aggressive mirror cleaning technology. There are cleaners that use not only the dry CD cleaner but also supply a liquid cleaner. You might show it to a technician at your local audio store and let them try and clean it as well. When any kind of disc is inserted, it plays the tune for a while, then says improper or damaged disc, and then ejects the disc. I have tried all the re-initialisation procedures I can think of, and even removed the battery, but I am still getting the same results. Is it time to bin it? Best wishes and thanks, Peter _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list Plextalk(a)lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/plextalk ----- No virus found in this message. Hello Vicky. I've had my PTX1 for a number of years now, and I don't know if it is still supported. There are other players and recorders available though, so it certainly would be worth you contacting them. Peter

I don't think mine recorded. I think it just played. But I don't know what all those extra buttons were. Pam. -----Original Message----- From: peter wilkins Sent: Sunday, January 15, 2017 2:20 PM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] PTN1 NOT WORKING Hello Vicky. The PTR1 is a recorder, which uses CD's and Flash cards. The PTN1 is simply a CD player. The PTX1 is similar to the PTR1, but with a slightly different control layout, and in addition to playing CD's it will play memory sticks, S D cards, and also has internal memory. Although you cannot record on it from external sources, or a microphone, it will let you move from one format to another for copying. You cannot copy on to a CD, but you can copy a CD on to a stick or a card, or into the internal memory, and you can copy from any of the formats on to another format. Hope this helps. Thanks Peter for your explanation. Is the PTX still a supported product? Would I contact Plexter.com to get one? Since my PTR1 is having some problems and since I haven't found where I can have it fixed, I think I should see about the PTX. Many sincere Thanks! Hi Peter, I have the TTR1 and have never heard of the PTX1. Please will you explain what it is and how it compares to the PTR1? Thank you very much! Vicky -----Original Message----- From: peter wilkins Sent: Sunday, January 15, 2017 5:29 AM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] PTN1 NOT WORKING Hello Wendy. Good to hear from you. My wife's PTN1 only plays CD's, so it cannot be used for anything else. Its position in her listening system is going to be taken up by a PTX1, which plays CD's, S D cards, and memory sticks. She has had the PTX1 for some time, but has hardly used it, so it will now come into its own. Keep well.
