Thank you Flor. I imagine that I did have the first generation Victor Stream. (We're now on the 2nd generation, which is a slightly different build - apparently). It will record continuously - I've recorded for more than 3 hours without intteruption - if Sleep Mode is not on, and it's connected to AC, and it also can be put there into a locked position (and then unlocked when the time is right). It's quite easy to knock off the recording switch. (The PlexTalk Pocket - and one would think the Linio, too - is 'made of sterner stuff', though.) -----Original Message----- From: peter wilkins Sent: Sunday, April 09, 2017 9:28 AM To: Plextalk User Discussion List Subject: Re: [Plextalk] Plextalk Linio user manual Hello Gary. I will send you the Linio manual privately, and if you want it I can also send you the Stream manual. I cannot give details of dealers outside the UK, but Sight and Sound do the Linio and Humanware do the Stream. Hi Peter, I appreciate your response. Do you have the Victor Reader Stream? Several years ago, I had a Victor Reader Stream and the drawback I saw was that after, let's say, 30 minutes, the Stream would cease recording. The pocket seemed to let recording continue till the file could fit onto the SD card. Do you have any experience concerning that sort of problem? Perhaps I am lazy because I don't know much about compatible hardware etc. that facilitates radio recordings. If you have any recommendations about that sort of thing, I would be grateful. If you would send me the User's manual for the Linio, I would appreciate that also. Do you have any recommendations about dealers for each of the two devices? I can certainly send you a copy of the Plextalk Linio manual. As far as what I think of it is concerned, as a recorder it is very good, but I don't think much of its internet features, as they are dependent on using a computer, unlike the Victor Reader Stream, which allows internet radio and podcasts without needing another device. As a recorder I like it very much and use it all the time for recording from radio, etc. Peter _______________________________________________ Plextalk mailing list Plextalk(a)lists.hodgsonfamily.org https://lists.hodgsonfamily.org/listinfo/plextalk

Plextalk Linio user manual
by Gary Patterson 08 Apr '17

I have tried down loading the user guide from the Plextalk user guide. JAWS acknowledges that I have opened that link but nothing happens. I am very impressed with the Plextalk pocket. Questions: 1. Would you send me a copy of the user manual for the linio? 2. What is your opinion of the Linio? 3. What dealer did you purchase the Linio from? I want to emboss the user manual as I did the user manual for the pocket. Your help would surely be appreciated. Gary Patterson

Plextalk pocket not recording properly
by Steve Richards 30 Mar '17

30 Mar '17

Hi, I have developed an ongoing issue with my Plextalk Pocket which I cannot resolve. When I am recording both with an auxiliary microphone or the built in microphone, after about 20 minutes it ceases to record as though I have pressed the stop button. I can resume recording but then it repeats the procedure just a few minutes later and then carries on in the same fashion. I can confirm that there is adequate space on the SD card and that the battery has a good charge in it. Any ideas please? Thanks, Steve

Hello, I read recently that there was going to be an upgrade coming on march 17 of this year, does anyone know if this is true? This would be for the Plextalk pocket. Sent from Mail for Windows 10
