Hi no have not used it yet. Maybe may need to use that in my next networking course. Just using the gui windows server and server manager with nvda and windows narrator. Don't have a jaws remote licence but will purchase one next year. Thanks.

enable audio windows server

Hi totally blind using jaws, nvda, windows narrator. Able to do this in vm ware player, able to get narrator on the initial install screen. But when it reboots, no audio, and did try the Sc.config audiosrv start= auto. Does not turn it on. So is there a script or a way to turn on audio, when you are blind. Have you done that with windows server 2012 r2, 2016, 2019, and have you played with the insider version of server 2020, and if so, have they addressed this issue, some way to detect when a screen reader is running, then enable audio. So annoying. Marvin.

Hi everyone: I wanted to throw a question out to those of you who regularly work with Windows servers. When setting up a new server, do you go for server core or the full desktop experience? Are your reasons accessibility based at all, AKA would you use server core more if you could run a screen reader directly on the server, even built in AT such as Narrator? If you need to use servers running Server Core in your job, how do you do so today and what are your concerns around this method? Is remote access through tools like Powershell, server manager, Windows Admin center enough for day to day use or is not having normal console access an issue? Do you use Emergency Management Services<https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-comm…> to get serial console access or is that approach you’d take if you needed it? Unfortunately, Hyper-V on the desktop still presents some challenges. Namely at this point, there is no audio passthrough during the initial install phase so getting an OS up and running is still a challenge. I recommend sticking with Workstation for the immediate future. Thanks. Hello, I probably know the answer to this before I even ask it. Bu ton the off chance something changed in the past year, How is Jaws with VMware workstation? Specifically, while using a laptop, am I going to be able to pass through the capslock, insert and control keys to the guest VM? Or every time I press the caps lock key, is the local running instance of Jaws going to tell me the capslock is enabled? Thanks

Software KVM

Hi, Has anyone tried a software KVM for using the same keyboard and mouse on 2 machines with the host and client machines both using JFW? My company have blocked using personal devices from connecting to some services so I need to use my laptop for all work stuff from now on. I want to use the keyboard and mouse from my desktop on the laptop so I don't have to keep switching keyboards, but worried about JFW issues using it this way. Anyone tried this? Thanks. Andrew.

Office 365 scripts or plugins

Hi everyone, Work is bringing me back to windows after 12 years or so on Linux, and it is a process just as painful as it was to move in the other direction, so far. There are some nice surprises, such as improvements to the accessibility of Office. One desktop application on Office 365 which is still giving me trouble, is Teams. It seems as difficult with Jaws as it is with NVDA, so I am wondering if anybody has scripts or plugins to recommend, as I am starting to suspect that the problem might be between the keyboard and the chair! Lastpass.

Hello, Is anyone using Lastpass? I find the web UI to be really clunky. Also adding new items is not accessible as the drop downs aren't accessible to me. There are chrome plugins but these just dump you back to the web UI after logging in. Hi. Have my windows server orientation set to landscape. Cannot seem to change to portrait. Got windows server 2019 essentials data centre, 1809. And went into system, display. And it only tells me landscape. So no way to change to portrait. Thanks.
