cannot connect to sql server 2016 express

Hi chris. Since you are a dba, and maybe a database guru, using sql server and management studio 2016 64 bit, now, it is not letting me connect. So googled, and said, to see if it is added to my firewall, it was not, so added the desktop short cut from the desktop, turned off the windows firewall, as my router has a hardware firewall. And now still getting this error message. Any ideas. Marvin. Ps: will paste below. See if I can repair it. Short of having to uinstall, then reinstall, and losing one database, as tied to visual studio. This is stupid. Hi. cannot repair, does not like the sql server file I have, and the location, where I have it, does not show up as a folder. Any help. Any tools to repair. Marvin.

hello everybody i'm planing to lear php and i fined a grate toturial on youtube in my arabic language but the instructor useing sublime txt as edetor and he is also using xampp for apatshy and things i need for learning php the problem is that edetor and this xampp are not working any how with jaws so tell me the best in that feeld my os is 7 32 and also am using jaws17 alot of thanks to you and have a grate day -- ibrahem mahsoub blind computerest

windows server essentials 2016 has some interesting new enhancements

All, Thought this might help at least some of you ... this knowledge has certainly helped me plan for my future as well ... https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/window-server-docs/essentials/get-start… As you'll notice ... essentials now supports multiple domains; I've yet to determine what this means for those using the essentials Experience role within a Standard edition or Datacenter Edition environment, but at least for those wanting to keep their skills up outside of work, or who might run a small business, and either don't have the budget or the MSDN subscription to grab every single Microsoft product in the book, this could be an option for you guys. In 2012 R2, I tried the Essentials Dashboard, and I'd recommend for accessibility's sake, you ignore the simplified functionality, or at best, use PowerShell scripts (every configuration available via GUI is available via PS), or just use the normal Server Manager tools. With these domain-related enhancements, I might be able to cut out an entire swath of servers I thought I might have had to deploy. (separate file server, separate Direct Access connection). I'll look at this more, and if I find anything interesting either in articles or in my own testing, I'll let you know.

Windows 10 JAWS issue

Has anyone encountered the issue that JAWS stops reading the start menu, the system notification tray and the Windows I settings? NVDA works properly but something changed possibly in a Windows 10 update to cause this? Freedom Scientific suggested reinstalling JAWS and trying a new profile, but hasn't worked. Thought I ask if anyone else has seen this in Windows 10. Thanks.

Windows 10: Turning Off The Screen

Hello, In earlier versions of windows (8.1, 8, 7, etc) you could run "displayswitch /external" from cmd or the run dialog, or press windows+p and select "second screen only" to turn off the monitor while still being able to use the machine with a screen reader. This was useful on laptops, where battery life and privacy are concerns. However, this feature seems to be unavailable in Windows 10 on a number of machines. For these systems, what is the best way to do this? Basically something like the "screen curtain" on Apple devices. Thanks, Bill
