Microsoft exams with screen reader - actually scheduling the test

Hi. I have now finally got permissions from Pearson Vue to take Microsoft exams with a screen reader. Has anyone else got this before and managed to successfully schedule a test? I tried to do this but when I tried to take the test the invigilator didn't have anything about me using a screen reader even though the accommodation was on my account. He believed I may need to go through a separate schedule process. I asked the guys last week about this but haven't heard anything back and need to take some exams to get myself on a client project. win10 upgrade broke wsl2 Ubuntu terminal cut paste

Hello, I'm running the latest win10 upgrade. As of yesterday i.e. before I crashed for the night, I had wsl2 running with a Ubuntu setup that when I selected something in windows and did a control+c then a control+v in terminal the item would be pasted, for example a url passed to wget. I believe that the key also brought up a menu but am not 100% sure as I used it so rarely, point is it was working. Got moving today and saw that this machine had rebooted since it had to install an update, now the copy paste in Ubuntu terminal is no longer working and I'm not seeing how to get it back. RDP on windows Admin Centre.

Greetings, Have any of you been able to use RDP through the Windows admin centre? I'm trying to do this through Azure hosted and Azure Arc virtual machines. But I'm not having any luck in relation to accessibility. Thanks

hello dears i need to help my friend to setup some programs / configure jaws and so on... which better remote support i could use? i think for nvda, but we need to configure jaws, i can't use jaws tandum for personal matter is it safe to use rim beta tister version? if this is good solution; how i start session, need different shortcut to access end-user machine? which shortcut could use to move to my machine not end-user during session? please send me user guide or just your help. thanks very much.

Remote Incident Manager

Hell all, Just in case you all didn't know, a new Remote Incident Manager is in currently in public beta right now and they are looking for feedback. Having used the first RIM iteration as well as tandem and NVD remote, this so far is awesome. Latency is great, could use Jaws/NVDA and it doesn't matter what is on the other end. Although NVDA is the only one thus far where you can remote control a machine for a sighted user that does not have any screen readers installed. Obviously Narrator but then the target computer would hear that. With NVDA, they would not. They also just introduced unattended sessions. Reviewing the top line of the window in Windows Terminal

In Windows Terminal (running Windows 11, build 22000.613), with either JAWS or NVDA as the screen reader, the screen reader’s command to move the review cursor to the top of the window doesn’t always work as expected. If I clear the screen, or if I’m using some terminal application over ssh that does so, move to top of window does exactly that. However, if I run a PowerShell or Linux shell command that involves a pager (e.g., “man intro” in Linux or “get-help gci -full” in PowerShell), the results are different. After pressing Space one or more times to move through consecutive screens in the pager, the screen reader’s move to top of window command takes the review cursor at least to the first “page” in the pager – if not further back in my command history. I suspect there’s a scroll-back buffer maintaining the session history and that “top of window” is being taken as the start of the scroll-back buffer. The Mac OS terminal has exactly this issue – except that, on the Mac, there’s a “move to visible beginning” command in VoiceOver which is supposed to take you to the top of what is on screen, discounting the scroll-back. Admittedly, it doesn’t always work reliably. However, in Windows Terminal, it’s interesting that going to the top of the window actually works if a screen clear operation has recently been issued – or so it appears. Is there a way to move a review cursor in Windows Terminal to the actual first line currently displayed? Note that the GNOME and MATE terminals under Linux are the most accessible implementation that I’ve found in a graphical environment. In that case, moving the review cursor in Orca to the top of the window works, but I can also use keyboard commands in the terminal (Shift-Page-UP and Shift-Page-Down) to move through the scroll-back history.

Accessible tool in Windows to recover Word files from flash storage

A colleague deleted some very important Word docson a flash drive and all of the top hits on Google turn of file recovery apps that seem very dodgey - and not at all accessible. JFW 2022 with Win11 Notepad

Hi. Anyone using Notepad from Win11 (it's the one that works with dark mode) with JFW 2022? I'm noticing a few oddities with this. Firstly when reading using the arrow keys when I hit the bottom line of the document it seems to read out the prior line if that is blank. My files usually end with a blank line so I get this quite a bit. When using alt+letter to get into a menu it doesn't always seem to take. For example I quite often do alt+F then S to save the document even though that is not the quickest shortcut. I am finding the document doesn't always save then when I quit out so have to be careful. I get the same behaviour when doing searches using alt+E and F, my search term then types into the main text. Thanks. Andrew.
