Hi everyone, I am part of a team developing a way to bring low-cost computing to blind kids in developing countries. One of our challenges is working with non-Western languages and alphabets for use in Africa. Right now we are working on Arabic and I was hoping to find a blind person who spoke that language and is based in the US. hexadecimal in braille?

How is hex indicated in braille? Constantly having to escape strings of digits and letters with the number and letter signs sounds super bulky. I know 8 dot braille uses dropped numbers, but that would make letters and digits harder to discern.

OT: coding partner

Hi, I have a very good friend in India who wishes to advance his programming skills. He is looking for someone who can work with him on a project, where they both learn together or for him to receive some mentoring in this area. He is a very quick learner and has been learning for several years, so has a good understanding of basic programming concepts. What he needs is a point in the right direction and to work with someone. He is happy to adapt to any language, but has a lot of experience in python and would like to work developing web or desktop applications. I would love to work with him, but my work and personal commitments unfortunately do not allow this consistently. Communication with him will only be via email or text chat. You must not be a complete beginner. If there is someone who is perhaps in the same position and needs a partner to work with, or if you are good at teaching programming and how to use frameworks, please llet me know and I will put you in touch. MBAM

Has anyone experience with using MBAM with SCCM? Might want to pick your brains. There's plenty of documentation out for SCCM 2012 but very little for SCCM 2016. Also the UI for the configuration wizard isn't great. Form fields don't read very nicely. Why must all these teams in Microsoft reinvent the wheel? What was wrong with edit fields? Why did they feel the need to mess with a perfectly good standard? Surely they had better things to do with their time? Then the documentation. It's not so bad I suppose. But I'm giving it a domain account. Why can't it just provision the database and then the right permissions ofr that database. Why do I need to create the accounts then create the permissions that are needed on the database before the database is created. Seems like a waste of time for me. Given that even I could run up some code that creates a database then associates a domain account with that database while giving it just the permissions it is going to need. It seems like lazy development in my opinion. Sorry. I'm ranting. I read the MS documentation on why this is going to save me problems down the line and though to myself, why not. I'll quickly add this to my SCCM server. I didn't think I was going to have so many hoops to jump through. Anyone want to chime in? I'd be interested in your experiences with MBAM. Do I have much more of this messing to look forward to? Currently waiting on yet more validation on a configuration wizard. Darragh Daunted but not defeated by the Drudge of daily fighting with enterprise tech to make it do what I want.

database help

Hi. Okay, got a few databases, .mdf. for school projects. Now when I try to create a database in sql management studio, and put in a name, says for example AdventureWorks2014. Says database is empty. Also like for example trying to attatch the Adventure Works 2014, but says it could not be attatched, and does not give me a reason why. Also when I try to then restore the AdventureWorks2014 database. Says it could not be restored, and does not say why. Also when I try to use the import / export wizard should I use the 64. Did try the 64 bit import. But does not bring up the tables, and does not import the database, AdventureWorks2014, and gives no error messages. So any ideas. Do I need to repair sql management studio. Any ideas. And had to install or repair sql management studio 2017 and also sql server 2017, when I upgraded to windows 10 1803 64 bit and using jaws 2018.1085.33 64 bit. So has any one run into this issue. And have the same issues, and yes, tried the t-sql, and would not do that either. Kept giving me an error. free tool to repair corrupted sql management studio databases

Hi. Using windows 10 64 bit pro, and using sql management studio 2017.7 express. 64 bit pro. Now got a whole bunch of databases, and then it messed up when I upgraded to windows 10 1803, and using jaws 2018.1805.33 64 bit pro. Have tried googling. But now cannot add a new database, when I put in the name, and click add, and then okay, keeps saying empty database. Also will not allow me to attach .mdf databases just keeps telling me error, and could not attach. Cannot restore a database, keeps just saying error and the database could not be restored. And also when I try to import, databases. And they are the correct .bak files, does not import. Don't have a credit card and paypal. Did try the built in sql management database tools, but would not work, kept giving me an error. Could not find it, even though did point to the correct databases. So, how to fix and any free, accessible database tools or do I just use visual studio community 2017 32 bit, to attatch the databases, and will that connect to it in sql management studio. Had this issue, since I then upgraded to windows 10 1803 64 bit, when it did not install the whole sql, and so had to repair and then got the latest version. Did try sql management studio 2016, 64 bit, but did not make any difference. Any ideas.
