securely wiping hard drives

Hello, I've got several old hard drives that I'm now wanting to get rid of. I need to securely wipe them. They connect to my computer via USB enclosure. I know about boot and nuke, but to the best of my knowledge and i'd love to be wrong, that doesn't work with access technology. Recommendations appreciated. I'm using windows 10 with NVDA 2017.4 and jaws 18. Thanks. Dave.

Accessible Disk-Checking Software

I don't care what operating system it's on, I simply need an accessible disk-checker, something to which I can give a disk and have it checked for errors--bad sectors, you name it. If it can securely erase a disk, too, that's a plus, but for that, ERASER is OK by me. Thanks in advance.
